Balkanyi would have walked through these gardens on her way to work as a technical illustrator in the Paris Zoo. The artist and collector Dunoyer de Segonzac bought a copy of this print when it was first exhibited.
Although not annotated or signed, this copy the final state was carefully preserved in Balkanyi's studio in tissue paper. .
